  • Lectures in Santa Barbara in May
    From 4 – 14 May, I shall give a class on Resource Productivity at the Bren School for Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. For details visit www.bren.ucsb.edu
    I have served as Dean of the School from 2006—2008 and added the course on resource productivity to the School’s curriculum. Currently, the School is searching for an open rank professor of resource productivity, which is likely to be be the first of its kind in the United States.

April 2009 International Dates

  • April 28: Lecture at IHDP Open Meeting
    The International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) will hold their Open Meeting, an international conference with more than 500 participants from around the World, in Bonn, Germany, 26-30 April . For details access the homepage at www.ihdp.org.
    On 28 April morning at 9.30 there is a session on Rsources and Technological Innovation, with Anthony Giddens, State Secretary Michael Müller, Prof. Ortwin Renn, Prof. Christopher Bunting and myself as keynote speakers. I am serving also as a member of IHDP’s Scientific Advisory Board.

February 2009 International Dates

  • UNEP Governing Council Nairobi, Feb 17-18
    In his capacity as Co-Chair of the International Panel for Sustainable Resource Management, Ernst von Weizsäcker has been invited to participate in a plenary panel discussion during UNEP’s Governing Council in Nairobi, on Tuesday, 17 February, afternoon. He is also co-hosting a side event by the International Resource Panel on 18 Feburary.
